ROOTS IN THE RING
My name is Dmitriy Sidorenko. I was born in Ukraine, in the time of the Soviet Union — where fighting was not a hobby, it was survival.
As a teenager, I stepped into boxing. My first coach, Dmitry Sosnovsky, later became AIBA’s Best Coach of the Year and the head coach of the Ukrainian national boxing team. He gave me discipline, pain, and respect for the ring.
Later I trained under Valentin Romikh, known as one of the most technical boxers of the Soviet Union. From him I learned not only how to fight, but how to teach. He shaped me into a coach, not only a fighter.
Those years defined my foundation. The gym became my second home, and the fight became my language.
A LIFE OF FIGHT AND CRAFT
At 18, I was still a fighter — but already also a coach. I fought in the ring and at the same time trained kids who needed the fight as much as I did. Teaching them, I learned myself.
In 1995, I moved to Bulgaria. Starting from nothing, I built three fight clubs that are still alive today, carried forward by my students.
Today, I work and develop my fourth club — created by my friend, where I stand as a trainer and manager, not as its founder.
For years I searched for something I could create that had real value. I tried making pants, then jeans, and even shoes — but those were only attempts. It was not enough just to earn money.
And then it came to me — I had been in sports all my life. I needed to create something for fighters.
FROM THE NEEDLE TO THE RING
After school, no technical college wanted me — we were seen as troublemakers. The only place that opened its doors was a tailoring school.
What began as punishment turned into a weapon. In my second year, I opened my first sewing workshop and graduated as one of the best tailors of men’s and women’s outerwear.
It was discipline in another form — the same precision and patience I knew from the ring.
Those skills, learned at a sewing machine, would one day shape DUUM — gear built with the same honesty and toughness as a fight.
WHY DUUM
I spent my life in the ring and in the gym. I know what a fighter needs, and what fails him.
Gloves are not marketing. They are not fashion. They are a weapon.
The idea, the model, the design, the details — all are mine. But the gloves themselves are crafted by true masters of their trade.
DUUM was born to give fighters something real: gear they can trust, tested by experience and built for war inside the ring.
THE DUUM WAY
No fake shine. No empty slogans.
Only discipline. Only silence.
Only the will to win.
